Teaching Matters

Lessons are built around the student's abilities, needs and goals. Depending on the experience of the student, lessons can include the basics e.g. holding the drumsticks, technique and basic grooves. More advanced players need to further develop independence and we can explore jazz, advanced styles and linear playing. Alternatively you may just want to learn to play your favourite songs. Grade exam coaching for both Trinity Guildhall and Rock School is available as well as rudimental snare drum. I have been lucky enough to learn from one of the best drum teachers in the UK, Mike Dolbear (drum coach for The Voice, Arctic Monkeys, Vamps, Simple Minds and Hanz Zimmer). I have played in a huge variety of settings from jazz trios to metal gigs and can’t wait to pass on my experiences to you.
